About
I'm a newly-graduated frontend developer based in Norway. After a decade working as a science journalist, I've discovered that writing code is just as fun as writing news stories.
What I care about
- Masterfully crafted digital interfaces
- Well-written software documentation
- Online privacy
- Science communication
- UDHR
Random facts about me
- I never wear shoes if I can wear sandals.
- I can teach you how to survive a jaguar attack, in case you ever get lost in the Amazon rainforest.
- I once had my a** kicked by a 79-year-old lady during an aikido session in Japan (I'm into aikido and karate).
- I love black & white photography and here are some of my shots.
- I've fallen in love with a Norwegian girl in Scotland. We now have a beautiful daughter and the three of us live in Lysaker, just outside Oslo.
- I really suck at football.
My personal favourites
- Favourite drink: chocolate milk!
- Favourite hot drink: I'm an avid drinker of mate, the famous herbal infusion from South America. In fact, mate is a fantastic coding companion – better than coffee!
- Favourite movie: probably The wind rises, by Hayao Miyazaki.
- Favourite card game: Magic: the gathering. My partner has recently taught me the Norwegian version of Idiot, but I refuse to play that. Maybe because she always beats me?
- Favourite chess opening: the king's gambit.
- Favourite note taking app: Obsidian.
- Favourite VS Code theme: Linux Terminal Flat Dark.
